Destination Thailand came to The Hope Fair in 2017 to highlight the charities of Khlong Toey participating to our events as well as entrepreneurs and designers.
At that time we had raised 150000,- THB for the HDF Mercy Centre. At the end of 2020, 3 years later, we have reached a total donation of 858825,- THB … and counting!
At the end of 2017, after hearing the demand of the working community of Bangkok, we have hosted our first after-work event, to allow busy people to indulge in some retail therapy to support entrepreneurs and artisans.
It was a great occasion to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere with drinks and nibbles, catch up with old friends, and make new connections within the community. We had so much fun!
In 2017, The Hope Fair focused its donation on the renovation of the Romklao preschool of the HDF Mercy Centre, built in 1979, with first changing all the windows which kept falling, and then repairing the roof which has been badly damaged by the storms:
